2 days in and already feeling much better

Yep, Paleo can work this way. And I'm really glad about it. My stomach is almost flat again and feels just fine. My skin is recovering slowly and I'm feeling better overall. Oh yes, my sleep is better and my anxiety has gone away too. It's really AMAZING what impact your food choices have on your whole well being. Just think about how much better so many people would feel, just because they start to eat real food. Think of the millions saved in health care. Oh wait, that's the reason why the pharma industry doesn't like Paleo and real foods. Whoops. Too bad for them.

I just found out that there is one food option at Starbucks that is "paleo-approved", their fruit salad. So should I be hungry, I now know what I can eat here. Yes, I write this post at my Starbucks. I just love to be here and ponder and plan things. Do some research and enjoying life in general. Did you ever recogize that their Vanilla Rooibos Tea has a really strong apple flavour?! I like it simply because of that.

Trainingwise I'm just walking and taking the stairs, since my knee is acting up again. But I'll check out the swimming pool schedule this weekend and will probably start swimming again next week. So this should get interesting since I found out, that one swimming pool is practically just around the corner and since it is one with cheap fees, I might just declare 2011 as the swimming year. Plus Tango, because I've decided to learn Tango. Now I just need to find a dance partner, since I don't live in Argentina, this might be a problem.

Why Tango you ask? Well, take a look at this:

Have a magical weekend everyone.

Yikes

I'm feeling like crap today, since I threw up this morning around 2 AM. I don't have any idea what triggered it, because when I went to bed 2.5 hours earlier I was feeling fine, except for being quite tired.

On Saturday I did two hourlong walks through the snow (to and fro my parents for lunch, we had trout), though it was more trudging since it was often 40 cm high. When I got home I had to lie down for a nap, I was totally exhausted.

Yesterday we went to grandmas and there I took a short brisk walk with my dad of about forty minutes. We had duck for lunch. Since my grandma has opinion and I don't felt like going into a fight over food on christmas with her, I ate a few christmas cookies. My stomach wasn't to happy about them. Maybe they were the first stepping stone to the 2 AM happening. Whatever...

I don't know about you, but I'm currently planning my training goals for 2011. It's all about building a sound fitness base, leaning out, getting my food and metabolism right (Solving the knee issue. Would you believe it? I have a big bruise on my knee where it was always swollen, but I didn't hit it. Mmh, this isn't good.). I might throw in a short distance race in the summer just for the atmosphere, but nothing is fixed.
Since I haven't finished the Primal Blueprint yet, I can't give you any fixed info on this, but you will read how I do over time soon enough. In any case I'll go swimming this week. The 50m pool has really good opening hours this week, so I'll have a go on Wednesday or Thursday. I wished they had these opening hours all the time. It would make it so much easier.

The new training accessory comes in snakeskin-

print. Ha.

It's raining threads in Leipzig and since I need to move my butt, but would love to do so without getting wet feet, I've got myself pretty awesome:

snakeskin-print rubberboots

I know, I'm now the coolest walker ever. Haha.

Woodwork pics coming up tomorrow. XD.

My tendons around the left knee misbehave daily, haven't done any yoga yet.

No other news.

4 + 20 + Mg = Improvement

As you can tell from the title I succeeded yesterday in walking more then 4 k, cycling 20 k and drinking my Magnesium! Wohoo. I also had a piece of my second favourite cake the "Donauwelle". My favourite cake is Starbucks Chocolate Truffle Cake.

My mood has improved too, since I had a nice evening with my friends, my birthday dinner (we had selfmade cold spring rolls and some cheese'n'baguette).

Really funny was that I got the book "Eat Pray Love" from Elizabeth Gilbert in English from my friend K. Which is by mere chance the book, which I had put back on its stack in the bookstore on Tuesday evening, because I thought that the german translation is probably awful and that I should buy it sometime in English. What are the odds for something like this to happen? It's a fluke. (K was literally shocked by how many books I own and to think that I already have sorted out tons of them! *snicker*)

I also got two developed films back with really cool pictures. I just love photography. And my friends praised me for my organization of my photographs. Yeah. Since I've always been the dishevelled (or is "messy" the correct word?) one in our circle of friends, this praise does mean a lot to me. I'm on a good way.

I'm not so happy about finding out what will help me with my tendons. It's YOGA. I don't like yoga, I took a class once which was pure boredom.
I have two books on it though. A really beautiful one by Christy Turlington and an ugly one for runners by Jean Couch (what a name). In case you are wondering I mean the books layout in terms of ugliness and beauty. Seems like I don't get around it, since I want to run again with smooth tendons and muscles I have to do yoga. *grumble* As soon as I move to my new city I'll look for a yoga class and a triathlon club, until then I'll have to use the books.

Have a great day!

3 days in a row

Magnesium that is.

I also walked about 4 k and did a bit of cycling yesterday. Mood isn't that much better though.

Physio went well and it seems that the "knee" problem is actually a problem with my tendons, which tend to get hard and stay that way, this way resulting in the pain I have. I will look into this and find a solution. Remember: Nutrition is key.

Today I went to my doc for a blood check, should be interesting to get the results next week. Hopefully we find out, why I have this weird tiredness-problem. It's annoying.

Nevertheless I managed to design my new bed yesterday, since all the beds I really like are way out of my priceclass. Can you say 3500€ just for the frame? No, well me neither. Since I don't want to invest this amount at the moment and I don't see any reason to invest in a frame that I don't like, I've decided to design and "build" my bed on my own.

Can you decide that

something is your "drug"? Well, I don't know now if it works, but I did so and we'll see if it works out. It's a good "drug", no alcohol or chocolate or whatever. Don't you worry.

As you can tell from yesterdays post my mood is down in the cellar these days. Because nearly nothing works in the way I want it (job, flat, eating habits, training, bike). However yesterday evening in the streetcar I've had a few uplifting seconds. When I looked at my reflection (It was after 8 PM and already dark outside and the street car pretty empty, so I couldn't help it.) I liked what I saw and even more did I like that I seem to move in the direction I want to go stylewise. It was the first time that I looked at my reflection and felt like a grown up woman.

Today I feel more like an athlete who's done some necessary training. I've done some easy (legs full length on the bed) push ups. I don't remember the count (I don't need it, because I do pushups until my arms tremble and then two more), but obviously it was the right intensity and amount for a training effect, because I have sore chest muscles now. Good thing I have some physio therapy scheduled for today.

I also walked about 10k fast. Mind you, I don't mean this old lady sport walking, where you put on sport clothes, though I wore my Nike Free shoes I also wore jeans and my red trenchcoat. I walked to a furniture store up the road looking for a bed (they didn't have any beds that I liked) and later I walked to the city (approx. 5k). The tendons and muscles around my left knee weren't too happy about this exercise, but it didn't exactly hurt. I was only uncomfortable.

On the positive side I finally drank my magnesium two days in a row, that's a huge accomplishment (normally I'm good when I trink it once a week). I also had one of my proteine days yesterday. And though I also ate a lot of sweets, it was less than the days before.

Okay, got a lot of things to do and go to. Have a great day.

Read Keiths comment to my last post, it's amazing and it provided a b... kick I needed.

And the knee goes on...

Okay, glad that AZ will keep the skirt lessons in mind. ;-) Funnily enough I saw a lot of girls in the city with even shorter skirts and dresses the next day. Maybe it's just getting used too. Still waiting for the companies decision. I just hope that if there's a no, they don't give it to me tomorrow, this would totally ruin my birthday mood.

Anyway. Friday I went to my Doc again. Concerning the knee I get one more round of physiotherapy in the hope, that if all my muscles and ligaments are free, my knee get's back to normal. Until then it's bike and swim. I also got some stuff to help my connective tissue to get rid of the toxins it harbors and get the lymph flowing, which might lead to less inflammation and therefore a better knee, too.

And we got rid of my bad evening and night eating habits including my preference of sweets, wohoo. It seems to work, though it takes some getting used to on my mind/habits. I strolled out Saturday night, took a good look on the fridge and the kitchen cabinet with the cookies, but I didn't like anything and went back to sleep, which is new. Somehow Eliot (my dragon, that lazy a**) seemed to think on the weekend: "Ooouuuhh, no more eating in the evening? We need to compensate!" Which lead to stuffing myself over the day. Ts,ts,ts.

Hopefully the new way of eating is thoroughly implemented now and I'll finally get rid of the excess fat. It worked well with the nosespray (4 Months already, Wohoo.) so it will work with sugar in the evening, too.

Chris and I went for our usual round, but on Saturday and went by bike to some art exhibitions yesterday. Very sporty weekend. Even though I slept a great deal. Sleeping in the warm sunshine is pure luxury for me. I even did it on a beach on Big Island Hawaii. Pure bliss.

Okay, got some stuff to organize and look up some new job offers and apply.

Have a great new week everyone.

Focus and Discipline - ah, how I hate those words...

Because I lacked both.

Starting from today, I will train myself in staying focused and being disciplined.

You wondering about this? Well, I just kind of figured out of who I want to be when I'm a grown up! (Took me awhile, but I think I finally have an inner picture of the new me!) And yes, I like to be both. Especially since both are the qualities which will make me the person that I want to be.

Ever tried to train for a marathon without focus and discipline? Well, in case you haven't, just read my posts over the last year and you know what this is like! Hahaha. The problem is you get nowhere without focus and discipline. So my September goal is to gain both.

Today, I was really disciplined. I didn't buy any sweets (yes, I ate some, but just to get rid of them, before the evening.) or stuff that doesn't go with the person I want to become. And I didn't do so in Basel on Saturday!!! Which was really hard, since they got some pretty nice stuff.

I still lacked focus though. I'm still starting things and don't finish them before I start with a new task. But I'm getting better with it little by little.

On the job front. Still searching. Interview went well, but ...

On the sports front. Still some little troubles with my knee but stopping the medication seems to have done the trick. Doc appointment is next week, I'll see how it goes and then I might start with some light running / shuffling. Wohoo. Until then it's having fun with my bike.

Have a great new week.

The next round

considering my leg.

You know BDD might be on to something. Since my leg problems are getting worse and my physiotherapist is at the end of her knowledge and did send me back to my doc.

From what she said to me the problem is not located in my knee or my hip for that matter, but in the muscles and their sinews. Especially since the my deeper thigh muscles hurt in the night for no apparent reason, I hadn't done anything special that day. And she can only loosen them up, but they don't take well to it.

My next doc appointment is in 2 weeks, so I take the other two therapy appointments and wait for what he says. And I stop taking the new medicine, since it got worse since I took it.

Other than that it's still basic training, bike tours and core strength. Looking for a job and a flat, getting a haircut today (hooray) and visiting friends on the weekend (after another interview).

Have a great week.

KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

Things are looking good around here

Hey there.

Currently life is quite positive around here, even though it rains cats and dogs all day.

The reasons? (For the positive stuff not the rain.;-P )

#1 L-Carnitin seems to do the trick. Love that stuff, so tasty. You should try it.

#2 Manual Therapy seems to be the way to go when it comes to my joints and muscles. A million times better than any massage could be. After just one session my hip joints mobility is much better. Unfortunately my knee isn't apreciating this new flexibility. It's back to that state it was back in March. Still no running! Dang it.

#3 I have an job interview scheduled for next week.

#4 It's fresh apple season!!! Get some old varieties from your local farmers market and enjoy them. I do so.

There are more things, but I have some stuff to do today, so I stop here.

(Botanical Garden Leipzig)

Greetings from Leipzig, enjoy your weekends.

What a week!

The good things that happened this week, happened mostly today! (I don't want to think about the bad things!)

Good things:
1. I was called today by a headhunter to send in my application for a quite nice job. I did so, we'll see how it works out.

2. All in all I did send out 4 job applications today! I'm so proud on myself.

3. As a celebration to sending those 4 applications I granted myself some nice "new" songs by Wir sind Helden and Xavier Naidoo.

4. Writing my applications at the library was the best idea I've had in a long time. The atmosphere gets me to work and it's still okay to lay my head down when my eyes get to tired from looking at the screen. At home I always find ways to procrastinate and don't get the stuff done. I don't know how anyone can work from home, they definitely are different from me. I admire them for it, nothing for me though.

I did a bit of cycling this week and will do a bit more on the weekend. Except for that my main focus is still on getting a new job and moving out.

Oh yeah, I got new medicine and a therapy prescription for my knee from my doc. Guess what, the problem is not my knee but my hip! So from next week on I learn some drills to get my hip in the right position and then I'm hopefully back to running (shuffling) in a few weeks. Believe it or not, I miss running. Every time a runner passes me these day I really get annoyed for not being allowed to run.

Now I'm off to enjoy a nice food magazin I bought yesterday.

Lomopic I took back in April during my sunlight session.

Enjoy your weekend.

Update

I'm really into A*Teens "Bouncing off the ceiling (Upside Down)" this week. I saw a Star Trek Kirk/McCoy Video with it on youtube and I couldn't get it out of my head. So I bought it at iTunes yesterday evening and since then it's only this song I hear. Talking about singlemindedness. ts, ts, ts.

On the job front two things:
1. I still haven't applied for the super job/Master class. The reason: minor but time consuming technical issues with my new MacBook Pro. The data migration didn't work the way I liked it, so I had to copy and paste. Before I could attempt the data migration I had to get a firewire adapter, because "airport" at my old iBook was all "Nonononono, I don't want toooo." (Imagine a pouting technical device!) So I was dragging and dropping and organizing until after midnight.
This evening I'm invited to a friend of mine. K. I'll use this casual meeting to narrow and focus my skill set and strengths with her help. Poor K, she's got no idea what she is in for ;-)
2. Remember that I'm a member of a political party? Well, it has some benefits. Next week is a 1 1/2 day communications workshop on persuasion (In a good way! Never had dispute class(?) and need this desperatly.) for a really, really, really low fee. Just what I needed for the assessment center preparation. Hah. I love my party. (On this note: what's happening in the UK now, is going to be really interesting. A hung parliament, ohh, they're in for HUGE trouble.)

My room is still really neat. Though I will vacuum today after class. Do you have any good ideas how to order a lot of cables in a drawer? The mess in my technology drawer is really getting on my nerves. (Ouuuh, watch out, I'm developing into a neatfreak here ;-)

Yoga and stretching wise I'm getting a bit lazy. I skipped yesterday morning because I was too tired (light insomnia since Sunday, for no apparent reason). And today I was a bit too caught up in updating my financial status to recognize time sneaking around the corner.

The homeopathic screening went really well, I can recommend it wholeheartedly. I've got an appointment for May 21st for the evaluation and start of the treatment. And I'm really excited about it. Obviously almost all of my health issues are due to two problem areas. A scar from a surgery trough my navel and my upper front teeth. And some of my psychological issues could be solved too. Ah, if only my second appointment would be today!!!

Still no clearing for running, but my doc said my leg muscles are strong. (Wonder where he got this idea from?) So on Sunday Chris and I will hit the road with our bikes again.
Except for that this weekend is all about the superjob and getting my other applications out. Today I need to find out how to export and change pics in iPhoto 2009. As soon as I find out, you'll get some pill art in this post.
Here it is:

This lunch break I saw a woman with thighs as "thick" as my upper arms. It looked horrible. Like she walked on twigs instead of legs.

Good luck to Missy, Molly and all others of you for your race days (oh well, training too). I cross fingers and toes for you.

(PS: Don't forget Mothers Day!)

KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

Have a great goal and the rest will follow

Preparations galore for the most important application for my future as world leader namely the masters study / super job.

I have to get the certificate from my time in the Student Racing Team at my former University scanned. Did you know I was one of the design engineers of undercarriage parts of the Ty 2003/2004 race car?! Yep, I'm a real engineer!

My MacBook Pro arrived this morning. Apple FOREVER! It was delivered 1 week earlier than they first said. Thanks Apple, thanks UPS, thanks chinese manufacturers. I love you all!

My room is still neat (72 hours and counting ;-), even though I'm still tidying it.

I had heartburn yesterday and have bad skin today from the cereals of the last two days. No more cereals. I'm High Potential. High Potentials don't eat bad stuff!

My bank counselor at "Deutsche Bank" asked for my advice concerning a laptop for her daughter (5 th grade). I gave it to her. Naturally I couldn't help myself and promoted Apple, but within her best interest and according to her needs and specifications.

I've brought tons of food today. 7 Mini-meatballs (made by my mom), 2 sliced apples, 1 chocolate pudding (no cereal, but 75% dark chocolate, that's what I call "perfect snack") and 6 radishes.

I shouldn't have talked about my knee yesterday, because it acted up yesterday evening and feels weird right now. Good thing I see my doc this afternoon. Funny thing, the mom of my friend has an appointment right before me. Fluke.

This morning I did my stretching and yoga. Does your neck crackle when you move your head? Mine does. But I don't hear it when I have my iPod on. So for the neck moves I always turn the music off.

Yesterday evening I had a looong talk with a friend of mine and she gave me back my self esteem. (No she hadn't borrowed it! Don't know why it was with her. Hahaha) And since she worked for the company which has the super job / masters study and knows my workstyle and skill set she told me I'm a perfect fit. *happy sigh*

My elle uk horoscope for this month is great. Going after that, I'll get the superjob / masters class. Strike!

Since I'm member of a political party (liberal), I think of working in one of their committee of experts, but first I have to get THE job.

Have you ever been part of a political party or considered it?

KEEP MOVING FORWARD!

Paleo / Raw fu and knee results

Morning friends.

Guess what, the results were in yesterday. But for a change my doc wasn't in. Hahaha. He's on vacation this week. Lucky me.
But there isn't just one doc and the other doc was so nice to call me back later that evening.
With BAD news.

Yes, I've got a baker's cyst. But it's quite small and not the real problem.
The real problem is: tadaaaaa, my squished meniscus.
Yep, I've got one of the most common problems of runners. Weak muscles.

Fortunately there is a solution: strengthening the muscles around my knees with giving the meniscus time to heal.

So my next steps are:
- no running for the next month (but cycling and swimming and strength training),
- making an appointment with my ostheopath to speed up the healing process and get some more strengthening drills (done),
- getting the picture CD with the MRIs to go to a good orthopedist (runner or triathlete),
- getting a prescription for drill training at a medical gymnast and
- most importantly getting rid of the excess fat, meaning eating a healthy diet 24/7.

And with that we are at the next topic: FOOD (Mampf Diary).

Like I said yesterday I opened the battle against my body fat (reason for muffin tops and what's worse inflammations and therefore bad skin and the knee problems). Over the last years I tried different eating styles. By far the best for my body and skin were Raw Food and Paleo Diet. So I'll go on a combination of both from now on for the rest of my life. It's a combination, because I need a lot more proteine than most raw food diets contain. And I won't eat raw fish, meat and eggs on a daily basis, that's going too far!!!!

Additionally I realized something. As soon as I get home (my parents house) I fall back into my old habits taking on my child role and wanting to eat right away. Even if I'm not hungry at all in the streetcar. I only need to see the door and my brain goes on automatic and want's me to eat mountains of bad food. Pavlovian reflex at it's best. Well, I've canned another reflex in the last few weeks successfully. So with a little work and iron will I'll conquer this reflex too. Watch out.

One of the many advantages from living in a big city as Leipzig is that I get my hands even on fresh exotic produce. Yesterday I checked out an asian shop in the city. They had quite inexpensive pak choi and bean sprouts. So I got myself a bag of sprouts. No pak choi since I still had some lettuce left at home.

Additionally I went to my local whole food store and got Tofu and strawberry juice.

With these lovely ingredients I whipped up my fantastic and really healthy dinner:

Lettuce, cherry tomatoes, bean sprouts, basil tofu, flax- and hemp seed, strawberry-mustard-pumpkin seed oil-vinaigrette. Yumm and so healthy. I still have a problem to make the right amount. I ended up having made three bowls of this size. I ate them with chop sticks to eat slow, normally I eat too fast.

Today I'll get pak choi after class. I've never eaten it, so I'm quite curious of the taste and what I can do with it.

As of today I change my breakfast routine a bit. I'll incorporate a bowl of fresh cut fruit to it. So todays breakfast consisted of: my usual chocolate protein shake (400ml), my lovely Blue Garden black tea and a banana + half a pear.

And this is my lunch: radish, the other half of the pear, one red bell pepper and two boiled eggs.

Hope your knees are all right.

KEEP MOVING FORWARD.

No good news - edit

SCAR(L)E Day
66,6 kg - I didn't have any need to check the other stats after seeing this.
And look what I found here: http://www.physorg.com/news188995945.html

My knee is acting up since yesterday noon. All due to some walking to the big supermarket on Saturday. The distance combined was just 4 (four!!) k for chrissakes. This is nowhere near my normal walking distances. Looking as it is, even the 10k is in jeopardy. Since it rains today, no cycling either. In any case I'll do my new favourite Monday thing today again, going to my doc to see if my MRI results are there. Wanna bet if they are finally there?

Other than that I had a nice weekend. Fashion drawing workshop. Which was fun and I learned a lot, as soon as I get my designs scanned I'll post them in my style blog. It was also the right time, because the coach had worked in the fashion industry and could give me a few ideas for my current applications. The first one I send out this morning, the next one I'll finish tonight. Saturday evening Chris and I indulged in a french cheese dinner. Pure bliss. And yesterday I archived my films properly and finished the first application and prepared two others.

edit: Just out of frustration of this weight disaster, yes disaster, I've decided to get back on the eating habits that work best for me: Paleo and raw food combined.
My mom will probably go ballistic over this, but I can't help it.
In the last few months I got into a totally unhealthy rut mostly due to my mom (oh San, I've bought Germknödel, now eat it. Germknödel is made of flour, water, yeast and sugar, any questions?!), when it comes to eating. Leading to weight gain instead of loss. (And my Mom stands there telling me I got fat and in the next moment she offers me food!)

I hereby declare the battle against my excess body fat and starchy foods = fast carbs as opened. New food rule, I'll eat as raw and as healthy as possible. This includes my proteinshakes but excludes: sweets, bread, pasta, rice and potatoes and chewing gum.

After the trip to my doc I'll get some sprouts at the asia shop and at home I'll get my lovely blender out. Berry/banana/nut shake and sprout/lettuce salad for Dinner here I come. Lunch was 2 cooked eggs, 2 red bell peppers, radish.

That's it, have a good start in this week.

Welcome to Ken L as a new reader. Glad you're here.

Keep moving forward!

Yesterdays lunch

Really tasty and quite healthy. Unfortunately I ate some sweets too. I somehow needed it. But I kind of made up for it with a nice salad with hemp- and flaxseed for dinner.

Right before lunch I sat at the stairs before Leipzigs Opera and tried to draw. Well, Vincent van Gogh and I have something in common, the struggle with perspective at the beginning of our artists career. He learned it from a book eventually and so will I. Tomorrow I have fashion drawing class and I can hardly wait.

Well, it seems like the knee "pain" from Tuesday was due to Mondays walking. Cycling is obviously fine. So I used my bike to get to class today again, since we've got perfect spring weather. SUNSHINE. *Happy sigh* I took some nice pics this morning which I will post in one of the upcoming posts.

I wrote my application blogpost yesterday evening, which took slightly longer than I anticipated. So I will reread it today and then send out the application.

First training rides this year

Morning.

I rode my lovely Aurora yesterday to and fro class. Remember her?

It wasn't more than an hour and maybe 10k combined. But at least I was out movin' my ass. Which hurts now, because I always need some time to get used to the saddle again. So I went to class by streetcar today. Additionally I want to give some more rest to my knee, since it said hi again yesterday and I don't know why. Well, I rest it today and see how it goes. And then it's back to bike tomorrow.

On the job front, I've started out with one of my killer applications yesterday evening and I will write the additional blogpost today and send it on it's way tomorrow. It is in Bavaria again and except that it's a small town, the job and company and business are interesting. But I'll definitely need a car then, thankfully Smart's aren't that expensive.

No MRI results

yep, I've been to my doc this afternoon and they still didn't have the results. So I'm still off from running. >:-(

But on the up side, my knee seems to be healing. It hasn't been hurting since Friday. So I guess I'll test it with a bit of walking in my Converse tomorrow to see, if it's really mended or if I have to stay away from training a little bit longer.

Today is SCAL(R)E Day.
Here are the results:
weight: 65 kg
fat: 29,8 %
muscles: 34 %
h2o: 51,2 %

Not bad, considering that I haven't trained a bit last week. Seems as if my secret plan is working in that field. It took a bit of will, but I made it.

There was perfect spring weather today and I enjoyed quite a bit of it outside. Now it's cloudy again, I just hope that we've got good weather tomorrow so I can ride my bike to school.

That's it.

Bugger!

Three seems to be my bad luck number. Wednesday No, Thursday No, Friday No.

The Wednesday No came from Düsseldorf and was a nice No. Perfectly fine with me.

Thursday No: Well, would you believe it, it was Little Town! Not that I wanted that job anyway. But guess what, they just said in their email that they destroyed my application data. (Which they are supposed to do!) So I got back to them, to testify that they had decided for another candidate. And you know WHAT THEY ANSWERED? That they already said so in a letter on February 8th. HA. Guess what, I never got that information, which I told them. Well, this job would have been a waste of time anyway and I don't like to run my head in on walls!!! So I'm fine with it and glad that it came to an end.

Todays No: Munich. :( Oh well, it isn't that bad and I'd probably have been bored after a few months time and the payment wasn't that high either and it wasn't really an engineers job too. Still, I would've liked the environment. What's positive, they kept their word, they told me today. Not like that wretched Little Town. Still, I'm a bit down. (To put it mildly.)

Okay, so this means APPLICATION WEEKEND! Wohoo. (Snarling voice!) Well at least I know now, that my "wild" applications work to my advantage. (I even had it confirmed yesterday by a HR specialist, that my "wild" applications are a good thing!) My week point is the interview, but I have an idea how to fix that problem. An interview training! I knew about that option for some time, but I hadn't come into my own with the written stuff so I postponed it.

As funny as it seems, but I think this was my low point. There are no open applications anymore and I think that I finally mastered the written part now (for german applications). Now I have to work on my interview skills and really look for the companies and jobs that fit my skills and personality and quirks. Time to put in some work. Until now it was more or less randomized.

On the training front.
I'll go swimming tomorrow, since my knee is still off. Funny thing, when I wear heels it's fine, as soon as I wear flats it acts up. Marathon in Heels here I come! ;-P
And I accomplished a real feat today, even though I was down (better mood already :-) I didn't start eating sweets! I'll eat some buckwheat with cherry yogurt and a chopped banana for dinner in a few minutes. I already ate a banana, some slices of hungarian salami and an orange. And even though I had the bread and butter out already I just put it back and resorted to the banana. Slim Dreambody here I come!

So, I'll wish all of you a lovely weekend. Good training and a lot of fun!

My morning & Siemens Magnetom Symphony

4:00 AM Waking up, one look at clock, closing the window, turning on the heating in the bathroom, snuggling back beneath the warm covers

4:10 AM quick look at clock, turning the alarm off, snuggling deeper in the warmth

4:20 AM quick look at clock, turning over

4:32 AM quick look at clock, turning on the lamp on my nightstand, getting up and in the kitchen, filling the kettle and switching it on

4:35 AM damn, where is the bloody protein shake powder?

4:36 AM found it! in my room, whoops, getting the protein shake ready and the Blue Garden Tea out and into the tea strainer

4:37 AM pouring the water over the tea, cleaning my tongue

4:41 AM off to the bathroom with the protein shake in one hand and my clothes in the other hand

4:42 AM brushing my teeth, followed by other morning cores, while enjoying the first sips of my chocolate protein shake

4:45 AM rushing halfdressed to the kitchen to rescue the tea and back to the bathroom

4:55 AM starting to prepare food and drinks for the day

5:00 AM I need a wide T-shirt without any metall, do I even own something like this?! Oh yeah, my red raceshirt. Starting digging for it which leads to more stuff strewn all over the floor.

5:10 AM Styling time, hair, earrings, bracelet. Mmmh, what pair of shoes?

5:17 AM Aaaahh, I'm running late!!!! Is that a white rabbit looking at his pocket watch?!!!

5:18 AM Bags? Check. Jackets? Check. iPod? Check. Keys? Check. Shoes? Darn it. Running in my room, getting my shoes out, tugging the paper out of them, put them on. HHaaaaarrgggghhhh, wrong socks!!

5:19 AM Racing in my room, grabbing another pair of thinner socks and changing

5:20 AM Grabbing bags, iPod and Starbuck tumbler, turning off the lights and rushing out the door

5:22 AM Arriving at the streetcar station

5:23 AM Boarding streetcar to the city center

5:34 AM Getting off in the city center, everything is still dark and quiet, only a few people and cars are out and about

5:45 AM Arriving at the radiology and waiting with 5 other people for them to open the doors

5:59 AM Called in from waiting room, taking off all metals and trousers, answering a little questionnaire and laying down at the table of the Siemens Magnetom Symphony

6:13 AM Done. Really weird, it sounded as if it was broken, but obviously these are the normal noices!!

6:14 AM Having a quick peek at the pictures. Mmmh, doesn't look like there is a cyst. But mind you, I'm an engineer not a trained radiologist and I have seen them only for a few seconds.

6:25 AM Back on my way home. It's already day and lots of people on their way to work or wherever else.

The results and diagnosis will be send to my doc next week, until then I only know that there is nothing as big as this cyst in the last post. Lucky me.

Today seems to become a bright day, so I'll take some of the store window pictures after class and get them to development.

Luckily I finally got around to write my boring part of the next application yesterday evening. I'll write the fun part (Blog post style in English, its a german company which needs someone with really good English. Which means they need ME, ME, ME!), since the job is Apple related they get a "Think Different"-styled application. A standard cover letter (boring) and a blog post (fun), so they can choose and see how good my English skills are. Ahhh, I'm sooooooo good. ;-)

I hope all of you are well and right on track with your training schedule.

KEEP MOVING FORWARD!!!
